FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mayor Brian Keim
The City of Ste. Genevieve is experiencing a flash flood unlike any we’ve seen in a long time. Multiple roads are closed due to rising water levels adjacent to North and South Gabouri Creeks. Drivers need to be extra careful and not go around the barricades. Alliance crews are out helping where called to by the police and fire department. The levee pump house has staff standing by. We have had 2 water rescues this evening. If you have an emergency situation remember to call 9-1-1.

We are now solidly in the Enhanced Risk Category for thunderstorms tonight. See the estimated timing from the National Weather Service

Update: These streets and intersections will be intermittently inaccessible today through Monday, April 7th. Do Not drive through ponding water.
Currently (3pm, 4/4), South Main at South Gabouri is re-open. North Main at Riverview is not.
Due to localized flooding, the following streets or intersections are currently closed.
- North Main at Riverview
- South Main at South Gabouri (under train trestle)
Avoid driving through ponding water. Even shallow water can be dangerous, potentially causing your vehicle to stall or losing control. If you encounter flooded areas, find an alternate route to stay safe.

Heavy rain expected through Saturday, with flooding possible. Rain is expected to start around 9;15a with waves of rain to follow today through tomorrow.
