Street improvements continue in Pointe Basse and International subdivision in November. While rain delayed work last week, crews will continue to work in both subdivisions this week. In Pointe Basse subdivision, excavation will continue on the north lanes of Pointe Basse & Brentwood with finishing touches including sealant and seed & straw to follow. In International subdivision, excavation is to continue on Scott Street with Audubon Street excavation to follow once Scott Street is complete. Please continue to drive carefully around these ongoing improvements and construction crews.

Don’t forget to set your clocks back one hour this weekend as Daylight Saving Time ends! It’s also a great time to check and replace the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

Community Notice: Halloween Trick-or-Treating Guidelines

Dear Residents,

As Halloween approaches, the City of Ste. Genevieve would like to remind everyone of our community’s trick-or-treating guidelines to help ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all.

🎃 Trick-or-Treating Hours
Trick-or-treating will be permitted on Halloween evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. within city limits.

🎃 Age Guidelines
Trick-or-treating is especially intended for children 16 years of age and younger. However, all community members are welcome to join in the fun and celebrate responsibly.

🎃 Adult Supervision
Children under the age of 14 should be accompanied by a parent or another responsible adult who is at least 21 years old.

🎃 Participating Homes
For everyone’s safety and courtesy, trick-or-treaters should only visit homes where a porch light is on, indicating that the household is participating in Halloween festivities.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in following these simple guidelines, which help make Halloween a safe and enjoyable night for our community’s children and families.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!

Sincerely,
City of Ste. Genevieve City Hall

Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected on Saturday, mainly during the afternoon/evening hours. A few of these storms may be strong to severe between 12 and 6 PM. Parts of southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois are where the slightly higher threat resides, with storms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and locally heavy rainfall in addition to a tornado.
