In August, 2024, the Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen adopted the 2024 City of Ste. Genevieve Comprehensive Plan. The update to the city's Comp Plan was the first official revision since 1997. The goals and objectives of this plan were developed through an open dialogue and direct communication with local residents, city officials, as well as local civic groups. A part of the Comp Plan is a Future Annexation Plan (see map at bottom of page); several of the strategic goals within the Comp Plan involve this proposed future annexation.

In December 2024, at the request of the board, a Board Annexation committee was established. The committee recommended forming an annexation plan for the city and getting public input from the Comp Plan committee. The Comp Plan committee was assembled to examine the strategic goals of the city and give recommendations for accomplishing those goals.

The Board Annexation committee and the Comp Plan committee have examined the proposed Annexation Plan and have recommended adoption of the plan to the Board of Aldermen. The Annexation Plan is available for review by clicking here.
