The City is exploring the possibility of contracting with a single residential trash service provider. This approach could help reduce wear and tear on city streets by limiting the number of collection trucks operating in neighborhoods, improve the City's ability to address nuisance properties, provide consistent and competitive monthly rates for all residents, and potentially include additional services such as recycling and bulk-item pickup if desired by the community. As part of this evaluation process, the City would like to gather input from as many residents as possible. Please take a few moments to complete the following brief five-question survey by clicking here. Your feedback is important and greatly appreciated.

ALERT: Wednesday, July 1st. There is a 48 hour precautionary boil water advisory for Roberts Street between Fourth Street and Lahaye Street. From the Missouri Department of Natural Resources: What is a boil water advisory? A public water system may issue a boil advisory when there is concern that a problem with drinking water may exist, but it has not yet been confirmed. These are most commonly issued for major water main breaks or other low-pressure events where the possibility of contamination intrusion exists. They may also be issued while waiting for the results of confirmation samples collected for bacteriological analysis, which can take up to two days plus the time required to transport samples to the laboratory.

Warning- Heat Advisory. Summer is on it's way, and that means that these first several days of hot and humid conditions could take our bodies by surprise! We haven't acclimated to these conditions just yet, so be sure to take precautions when outside this week. Tuesday and Wednesday will be the hottest of the period, with a Heat Advisory in effect for many portions of the area on Tuesday. Temperatures will peak in the low to mid 90s, and with high humidity it will feel more like 100-108°F. This won't last very long though, with rain chances returning Thursday, and a cold front moving into the area Friday, temperatures will start to cool by the end of the work week

A quick reminder to residents: City of Ste. Genevieve ordinance prohibits blowing vegetation, including grass clippings, into the street. Please avoid doing so, as it can create stormwater issues and block street drains. Thank you for helping keep our streets and drainage systems clear.
